Income Tax Rates / Tax Slabs after BUDGET 2011

The main highlights of the budget 2011 are changes regarding income tax slabsrates. But no major changes has been made by the Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee propsal today. Only some significant changes for male citizens below then 60 years age i.e. increase the exemption limit from 1.60 lakh to 1.80 lakh per annum. Another major change is intoducing a high new tax slab for senior citizens of 80 years and above and reducing the age limit for consideration as senior citizens from 65 years to 60 years.
